The finally Exotic food!

Grace Point Sembulan: Ethnic Sabah stall.

Finally, come to our last exotic cuisine that might be excite to our viewer.

The food at Ethnic Sabah appears simple but it is worth to all of us to come and try the Sabah traditional food at Grace Court is located along Jalan Pantai Sembulan in Kampung Sembulan Baru, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

We would like to share some picture of food that we have tried,

Ethnic Sabah is known best for the cheap and affordable and also the best traditional foods with difference type of dish. Let’s start with first Sabah traditional food and it is “Ambuyat”. “Ambuyat” is a dish derived from the interior trunk of the sago palm. It is a starchy bland substance, similar to tapioca starch. “Ambuyat” eaten with a fork bamboo called chandas, with eyes rolling around starch fork and then dip it in the sauce with combination of three others type of Sabah traditional food such as sup ampap, ikan ampap and bambangan. 

When you take a look at the picture of sup ampap, you may think it is just a simple sup, but when you try, it’s a bit sour because it is made with two combinations of tomato and tamarind. Next, is Hivana. Hivana is made with a combination of fish, bitter gourd, chilli, ginger, shallots and lemon. This place is suitable during lunch time and the place give a new experience to people to try exotic food especially the first time to try traditional sabahan foods.

Grace Point Sembulan: Nasi Lemak 

Cheers to the next food shop that we had recently visited to find another exotic cuisine that we would like to share with you guys!

So we stop by at Grace Point Sembulan to seek one of their well known exotic foods, fried quail bird with rice. Fried quail reminds me of long but rewarding day studying in college. The fried quail was always the first thing ordered, and it was pretty rare not to order more as soon as it hit the table and the spices wafted up from the crispy, golden morsels.

As addition information, its quite interesting this because it actually a normal Nasi Lemak we always eat during our breakfast. In here, we can add-on some other side-dishes, one of the example we chose Fried quail as our unique bizarre side-dishes. Amazingly, it tasted really good and nice as it looks. 

Finally, a picture of four of us after heavenly stuffed by some nice exotic food. Even though, for some of our group members was actually their first attempt to tasted Fried Quail! But still, its a nice treat for our tummy after morning class :)

First adventure in finding Exotic food : SEVEN SEA RESTAURANT

 DAPUR SALINTANGI @ SEVEN SEA REATAURANT KK

Our first restaurant for this task is Dapur Salintangi @ Seven Sea Restaurant. We came up with the idea to chose this restaurant is also as to introduce our Sabahan KDM cuisine which is stand for ethnic in Sabah that is Kadazan, Dusun and Murut. 

Basically, the main ingredient for each main course mostly from Sabahan tradition ingredient and even how they cook each cuisine in their menu is also in traditional way and been improvise to be more attractive not only from it appearance but also the taste as to promote our tradition cuisine. We even tried to asked what is actually they include in food that they serve. Unfortunately the Chef who responsible to cook the food do not want to tell us. It is because that is their secret ingredient in how to make their food unique and special from the other restaurant in Kota Kinabalu.

This is the menu in their restaurant that definitely will catch your attention and wanting to try it instantly! Delicious!

The tradition food with some exotic ingredient in each cuisine makes the food a lot more tastier! Each food that we ordered comes with a small side dishes that is Tuhau. Another tradition food in Sabah. Definitely, will come again another time :)

Welcome to our Exotic Food project!

THE THEME FOR THIS SEMESTER : EXOTIC FOOD.

As for our group assignment for this semester, we are required to making this blog for E-commerce subject. This semester the theme that has been given to us is quite interesting that is to find some Exotic shop. Our group members has agreed to do some research around Kota Kinabalu to find restaurant that has offered exotic cuisine. 

Before we proceed to introduce three exotic cuisine that we have chose for our assignment. Exotic is referred to intriguingly unusual or different and excitingly strange. Therefore, the food that we will show in this blog is something which is different from the usual cuisine that we can find in any restaurant we had visited. 

Most of the shop that we had visited is operating offline, except for one shop that has page for their restaurant. Dont worry! we will include the link for the restaurant page in our next post :)
